 CON-DET 404 is a blend of anionic surfactants, formulated for use in fresh water, salt water, and in low-solids drilling fluids as a wetting agent.

Applications and Functions

  • Keep the drill bit clean 
  • Slow breakup of cuttings in the annulus while being pumped to the surface 
  • Counteract the sticking tendencies of clays, thereby reducing wall packing, bit balling, booting-off, and formation of mud rings 
  • Promote settling of cuttings at the surface in low solids fluid systems
