Foam Drilling-Demonstrating the necessity of using small amts of air to create foam in foam drilling situations to carry cuttings out of the wellbore.
Full Area Filter Press-The standard method for measuring the filtration properties of a drilling fluid. This measures filtrate volume and filtercake thickness. Filtrate volume represents the amount of water phase of the drilling fluid available to react with the formation and the drilled cuttings. Filtercake is formed on the borehole wall of porous and permeable formations and is composed of the solids in the mud system.
Half Area Filter Press-Using a half area filter press to test filtration, the property of drilling fluid that gives us an idea of the proportion of that drilling fluid available to react to the formation. This is an adaptation of the Full Area filter press developed for ease of transport and storage. Measures the same properties as the full area filter press.

Hardness and pH Test-The hardness and pH of the make up water for a drilling fluid contributes to the mixing efficiency and hydration of all drilling fluid products. These simple tests indicate when water treatment with Soda Ash is necessary for optimum mixing results.
Measuring Funnel Viscosity-The Marsh Funnel Viscosity measures the relative thickness of a drilling fluid compared to water. The drilling fluids viscosity is one component of the drilling fluids ability to remove drill cuttings from the hole.
Measuring Mud Density-The mud density is the weight of the drilling fluid and is usually reported in pounds per gallon. Mud density is the result of the concentration and density of solids in the drilling fluid.
Measuring Sand Content-Sand Content is the precent by volume of solids greater than 74 microns, or sand size particles, in the drilling fluid.

Types of Polymers-There are several types of polymers used as components of drilling fluid systems. Their shape and properties serve various functions in the drilling fluid and this demo represents how the different polymers work.
